Checking Out The Train Station- 35mm Film

My friend Chris has brought back good memories of spending a day exploring and taking pictures with no real plan or agenda. We explored a nearly empty train station and took a good look around inside and out. At this early time in my newly found hobby of taking photos I was just experimenting with my 50mm lens and different types of films.

You take a few shots with an SLR, you like some shots, you hate some shots, but the shots that just feel perfect is what makes me want to load another roll into the camera and continue to practice.

The Waterfall- Memories 200

There are nice trails in Trabuco Canyon and when I found out there was a water fall in Orange County I wanted to check it out. It was a nice trail that intersect with a stream. At one point of the trail either you can jump pretty well or expect to get your feet wet. It was warm at the beginning of the hike but towards the waterfall, it became more canyon like and colder. almost like the cold was held in that area only. The waterfall was nice to look at but definitely was quite small. There were many small red lizards at the base of the waterfall. It was a nice spot to relax, but it did begin to get real cold as in our breath was becoming more visible.

Early not so Early Start- Memories 200

So we left early in the day to locate this trail and to my mistake for relying on GPS we ended up a bit lost looking for it. I would recommend for any trail you go to, to read on the details people write on locating it. We had to pull over and read how there was a dirt road to turn into that we passed by because there are no signs to the trail. Also another important note that you will need a tall vehicle to go through this road like a jeep. I did see some cars drive through it but I wished I was able to see how they took the really bad dips. Since my car at the moment is lowered I had to stop early and we started the hike before the official trail started.

Little Bear- Memories 200
I took my time looking at this piece because it just reminded me of my childhood where all I did was stay home and watch the number of shows on Nickolodean. The most memorable was Little Bear, it feel like before it would play on the television most of the day.
EDIT: I just realized this was my 200th post with 200 film. I just wanted to share hah.

Random LA Night Continues- 35mm?

I have omitted many shots to these sets because well, I’m a bit embarrassed. I still do make mistakes today but I believe my photos have slowly improved and the quality of the blogs most definitely.

I posted photos from this set around the beginning of when I created this Tumblr. I believed that I would go back every year and take photos and put them as throwbacks. Unfortunately that did not become consistent so I decided if I’ll do a throwback I’ll just post them all, except well the bad photos.

Another thing that about these throwbacks is that I seriously miss the urban, city, and industrial type of shots. When we did this random venture through LA deciding randomly when to exist the Amtrak it was a crazy do what feels right kind of night. I do sometimes miss the times when we can visit late night to LA without repercussions the next day.

Especially adventuring with these two, it seems so long ago when we did this, it was just so random and fun. But I do not believe such things should end, its all about not losing hope and grabbing the opportunities. Chris has been another influence in my photos in the beginning. When I first started out he supported my good and bad shots. Because of Chris I started taking extra time on my shots to focus on that focus. I owe a lot to these two with my photo style and my photos will always be evolving and changing.

Random LA Night at the Amtrak- 35mm?

So I decided to put my photos just a little more out there, I used to be big on using Flikr but I did not want to pay pro. In looking at blogs to submit photos I think its best to start at the beginning of when I stated taking photos.

Anyway I ended up finding these photos I took with my friends Chris and Cheryl. I don’t usually do Throwback Thursdays, Its usually Tuesdays, and usually, its not usual. And I realized how unorganized and well quiet I  was in posting photos. I never did post the film I used either, oh how times have changed for this blog.

Anyway… again, these two friends were there in the beginning of my development as a photographer. The roots to all my photographs you can say started shooting with these two. Looking back I can see the many blurry mistakes, the curiously off shots, and most of the all the wonderment and enjoyment of taking photos with no plan but the spontaneity of adventure. I have not seen my friend Cheryl in a while but  I’m glad she was one of the prominent influences to my photos.

I do miss this time when we really randomly went around L.A. just exploring around. Everything was closed, and many downtown one way streets were dead empty. I remember Union Station, dropping by near the Disney Music Hall and many other random spots.
